GMDSS COASTAL RADIO, PORT COMMUNICATION, MSI/NAVTEX & AIS

Danphone has developed, manufactured and installed advanced radio communication equipment and complete systems since 1990.

Danphone’s GMDSS Coastal Radio Solution is a complete & flexible IP-based radio communication system primarily for coast stations, ports and off-shore installations and designed specifically to comply with ITU, IMO and international maritime specifications.

GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) is an internationally agreed-upon set of safety procedures, communication equipment and protocols used to increase safety at sea and make it easier to send aid to ships in distress.

GMDSS consists of several integrated systems, some of which are new, but many of which have been in operation for many years. The systems are intended to perform alerting and position determination of vessels in distress, search and rescue coordination, maritime safety information broadcasts, ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship communications.

PORT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A comprehensive and integrated communication solution designed for efficient and secure operations within ports. It encompasses a range of technologies and protocols to facilitate seamless communication among various stakeholders, including port authorities, vessel crews, and related personnel.

MARITIME SAFETY INFORMATION

With more than 40 NAVTEX transmitter systems delivered since 2007, Danphone is truly a leading supplier of Maritime Safety Information and NAVTEX systems worldwide.

The Danphone HF & NAVTEX transmitter system is scalable and can be customised to suit all requirements – from a single-transmitter setup to a complex national system with multiple operators and transmitter sites installed at various remote locations.

MSI NAVTEX is an internationally coordinated and automated direct-printing service for promulgation of navigational and meteorological warnings, meteorological forecasts and other urgent information to ships.

NAVDAT will supplement NAVTEX when standardization and rollout planning has been decided by IMO.

MSI NAVTEX is a component of the Worldwide Navigation Warning Service (WWNWS) defined by the IMO. NAVTEX is also a major element of the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) mandated by the international convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) dating back to August 1993.

SHORE BASED AIS

Danphone is a reputed supplier of complete, rack mount AIS physical shore stations PSS, built to meet individual customer specifications. In this capacity, we work with leading suppliers of base station transponders and AIS system software.

Depending on the customer’s requirements and scope of supply, we can offer equipment supply, manufacturing, installation and test.

AIS (Automatic Identification System) is an automatic tracking system used for collision avoidance of ships.  AIS information supplements marine radar, which continues to be the primary method of collision avoidance at sea. In addition to collision avoidance, AIS also forms the core element in vessel traffic services (VTS).

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requires AIS transponders to be fitted on board all vessels with gross tonnage of 300 or more and all passenger ships regardless of size.
